Tutorials and Resources - Set up for bubbly photos: [link]
Materials and Methods Nikon D80 + Nikon AF-S DX Zoom Nikkor 18-55mm F3.5-5.6 G ED II lens + magnifying glass. The cherry was attached to a white Styrofoam piece with a sewing needle. The contraption was then submerged in a vase filled with seltzer water. The Styrofoam was a bit larger than the vase widthwise so that it would create greater tension and wouldn't float. A top from an old Fossil watch box was used as the background. The dark background caused glass scratches and imperfections to show. Increased contrast to make the scratches more visible. Color balance for a vintage-ish feel. See my FB page for the original and post-edited: [link]
Additional Comments The bubbles are technically carbon dioxide I liked all the weird textures and scratches; thought I'd share it Check out the print for crisper details, better vignetting, and more negative space This photo is protected under a Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-No Derivative Works 3.0 License. This image has so much character. The title is awesome and it's an image worth showing off. Great skill is shown in capturing this bubbly delight. (

This is awesome! The carbon bubbles create such a lovely texture on the cherry. I like how the bottom of the photo looks all bubbly, too. I think it gives the image a sense of unity, and the circles in the background help to achieve that as well. I also like how the circles in the background have dots of red. That goes well since the subject is mainly red. It makes the overall image pleasantly cohesive.
While this may not be a totally original idea, I feel it was executed very well. My only concern is that the overall image is slightly washed out. I think it would've been a good idea to have slightly richer colors (but maybe this was the look you were going for). Overall, this is absolutely amazing.
