Nikon D80 + 50mm f1.8. Manual mode 10 second exposure. Triggered the external SB600 flash upon shutter release. The external flash is held under the glass jar, which is filled with water. The light from the flash dissipates/refracts through the water for the remaining exposure for this glowing effect. See my FB for a better explanatory image: [link]

Curious.........it wouldn't work if you don't have an extenal flash to trigger? you can't just hold your hand with the jar over a light source like a very small LED light?
