Nikon D80 + 18-55mm Nikkor + IR remote. How to take self-portraits tutorial: [link] . GIMP for post editing. Still just playing around. I'll try to be more specific once I figure out what I'm doing exactly. Vignetting stock [link] on overlay. Semi-transparent colored layers for color balancing.
Probably better suited for a journal than the Artist's Comments:

I decided to update my ID with a picture of me in my dorm doing homework XD.

I recently started university and the story is essentially the same for every student that undergoes this change: it's really different from being in high school. Although the coursework is comparable (in my opinion anyway; my roommate disagrees >_> <_< ), living independently (or I guess with a roommate) is definitely going to take some getting used to. Not only must time be specifically allocated to classes (that are held at the strangest times) and homework, it must also be for eating, showering, sleeping, and other seemingly routine activities that somehow still end up getting lost in the long nights of socializing. And of course among one of those routine activities that has been lost is my activity on deviantArt.

I have definitely not been very active on deviantArt recently. I have answered probably 1 comment in the past week...and that comment was a question concerning my absence from dA ^^;

But it's only been a less...wait...yeah less. Keeping track of dates is another thing that gets lost. But anyway, as soon as I find my footing and adapt, I will hopefully find time to spend on dA.

Until then, I will not be replying to everyone's comments as I have done in the past. Please refer to the new FAQs located on my main page under this profile picture and of course the Artist's Comments of every deviation as they will most likely answer a majority of your questions.

Thanks for the support :blowkiss:

Attending a university is a major change in life. Adjusting to a set schedule where many things must be planned out in order to achieve many goals can be very overwhelming. Balancing school along with work, clubs, and hobbies it can become quite a burden.

The main thing is to stay healthy and happy! Make time for friends and hobbies. Never give up sleep and always eat. Having roommates is a nice change of pace. I've lived with my roommates from my university days for about five years now and I can't imagine life without them (well I can and have, but having them around is a plus).

I'm glad to see that you are learning in life and expanding your horizons. I will continue to peek in every so often to see how you have enjoyed life through your work ^^

Thats one very good magnet then :)
Wish the best forya. You seem up to the challenge!

UCLA (despite my first choice being USC) is amazing. I knew it was cool
when my sister came here, but experiencing it for myself is just awesome.
Going to join a christian frat (have to pledge) but theyre a lot safer than a social frat.
:D Im very happy I found them (in a dropped newspaper).

Classes just started today actually. I seem up to it. Kind of quick style of teaching.
I suppose you have to be for a 10week quarter.

Well, good luck with the Uni. It is a big change but you'll find the greatest growth as a person there.

My schedule was all over the place, I had 4 hour classes. Some where at 8 am, some at 11 am, some at 3 pm, some at 6 pm and I even got a class on saturdays...weird though traffic wise it was great.

Again Good luck.
