Tutorials and Resources - Ancient Warmth action: [link]
Materials and Methods Nikon D80 + 18-55mm Nikkor + Grad ND filter + ND filter. Cloudy day so ISO 500 and later noise reduction in post editing was used. The camera accidentally focused on the tower and not on the pigeon so the pigeon is slightly blurry. Minor selective sharpening was used to compensate. Ideally a smaller aperture should've been used but the pigeon flew away after this shot. Channel mixer for grey scaling to selectively brighten yellow and green hues. Applied Ancient Warmth gimp script. See my FB page for the before and after post editing: [link]
Additional Comments Back from a week long conference in Spain followed by a week long vacation in Paris and around Italy. Paris was definitely my favorite Really good food especially deserts macaroons and crème brûlée There are a lot of pigeons everywhere though...and people really like feeding the pigeons and letting the pigeons climb all over them This image is protected under a Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-No Derivative Works 3.0 License. I'm from New York, and pigeons are just flying rats to us. They pretty much rule the city, but only children and the elderly feed them. By time you're a teenager, you realize just how much of a nuisance they can be especially when an old man feeds them everyday on your block and they crap all over everyone's cars. A man literally couldn't drive his car because he had dried bird droppings completely obscuring his windshield.
On another note, this is an amazing shot, and your tagline (I guess I can call it that) "Pigeons rule this city" is so damn true. We build these massive structures, and all we can really do is take the elevator up to the top and look in awe. But even to a pigeon, this tower is insignificant. They can fly to the top whenever they want to, over it if they feel like it, and they just use it to nest in and rest when they don't feel like flying anymore.

Geez...sorry for the long comments.
