The C-Section :bucktooth:

Materials and Methods
Nikon D80 + 50mm f1.8 + IR remote. Tutu is made. Octopus lamp for lighting. Minor vignetting in post editing. Color balancing. Darkened shadows and increased midtones to create a slightly better contrast.

Additional Comments
Hoping to do more with this style of lighting. I've been meaning to do this concept for awhile. I would much prefer it done with a pregnant model though. If anyone wants to replicate the concept with a pregnant model feel free; I'd love to see the results. Or maybe I'll try this shot again in a decade or so

PS: No, these markings are not the markings for a real cesarean. This is simply a conceptual realization; not a literal representation.

I generally hate explaining concepts but some people seem to be interpreting this photo way too literally. One deviant seems to have summed up the interpretation fairly well: "Sounds painful. But what do I know about childbirth; I'm a guy. LOL on the tic-tac-toe board!"

In other words: It's a lighthearted, childish spin on a painful sacrifice inspired by personal oblivion.

If you want to suggest another title, feel free. If you interpreted the concept differently, I'd love to hear what it was :)

Let me first say that this is beautifully done. The concept seemed like it was well thought out and you represented the girl beautifully with the way you have her posed.
The color of the skirt and the frill that it projects makes her skin glow and makes it vibrant. Even though she is topless, our attention goes straight to the tic tac toe lines upon her stomach. It was clever of you to put her bellybutton in the middle.
The lighting is positioned greatly on her midsection. You make the subject blunt but you use soft tones to make us look all the way around the girl.
The one thing that caught my eye was the fact that her chin is exposed. Perhaps if her face was pointed down and her hair was falling around her face, it would give more direction towards her stomach.
You really did a marvelous job with this. You picked a plain background and a lovely model with beautiful colors. Brilliant.

First of all... love in an another place where you can find a woman that is half nude and that she hide her breast... how sweet! Hummmm actually we could think that this woman had a surgery or some medical test to her belly. Maybe she wanted to be pregnant but could not find the right man to be a father. I am a father and I know what it is.... not to be pregnant of course hehehe but to want a child. The red robe makes her a litle taste for a passionate night with her man. Or maybe she cant have babies and is disapointed of that... that is a great message you give to women. Oh god I feel like a woman.....
